      Application Procedure Application forms along with information brochure are available on cash payment of Rs. 100/- (One Hundred only). The application forms can be downloaded from the website of School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal (www.spabhopal.ac.in). Completed application forms should be accompanied by a demand draft of Rs 1000/-(One Thousand only) drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favor of Director, SPA Bhopal, payable at Bhopal. The scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and physically handicapped candidates are required to send a demand draft of Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred only).
      Admission Procedure After the scrutiny of forms submitted by candidates, based on the fulfilling of compliances mentioned in the application procedure, they will be called for interview at SPA Bhopal. The prospective students will have to undergo a written test followed by an interview in the end.

      Eligibility B.Arch., B.Plan. (with minimum one year of experience)

      The students called to appear for an interview should bring with them a Portfolio of works that would reflect the applicants' professional and/or academic experiences and interests. Portfolios shall be assessed according to proficiency in design, presentation and layout, technical skills, and content, similar to criteria used in design studios. Three letters of recommendation are required, and it is suggested that at least two of the letters come from former educators or academic contact.
    • Master of Architecture (Conservation)
      Eligibility B.Arch., B.Plan. (with minimum one year of experience)
      with 55% marks in aggregate.

    • Master of Planning (Urban and Regional Planning)
      Eligibility Minimum 55% marks in aggregate in
      B.Arch. / B.Plan. OR B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering

      M.Sc. / M.A. in (Geography / Economics / Sociology)

Students are required to bring three letters of recommendation and present a portfolio / document that demonstrate their aptitude and experience towards Urbana and Regional Planning.
    • Master of Planning (Environmental Planning)
      Given the growing importance of environmental planning and the consequent demand for environmental planners, the course is designed so as to equip the students with necessary knowledge and skills. The course endeavor to develop an understanding of various aspects of environmental planning and management by introducing an array of subjects, namely, environmental economics, environmental monitoring, environmental policies and legislation, environmental impact assessment, natural management, bio- diversity, climate changes, etc. With the first semester building a foundation, the curriculum is spread across four semesters with each having a studio exercise. The program is supported by well equipped GIS and computer labs for carrying out spatial and non-spatial analyses. The students also join research projects, workshops, competitions and other knowledge exchange programs to enlarge their domain of experience and learning.
  • Doctoral
    • Ph.D. Programmes
      Eligibility Masters Degree in Architecture / Planning or equivalent with good academic record. Masters Degree in Technology and other relevant disciplines related with the built environment with basic degree in Architecture/Planning will also be eligible.

Completed application forms should be accompanied by a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- (One Thousand only) drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favor of Director, SPA Bhopal, payable at Bhopal. The scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and physically handicapped candidates are required to send a demand draft of Rs. 500/-(Five Hundred only).
      • The selected candidates will be admitted to the Ph.D. programme after payment of prescribed fees.
      • Provisional Admission: Candidates waiting for their final results may be admitted provisionally. Such candidates will have to produce their original mark sheets as proof of qualification within sixty days of their admission in SPA, Bhopal, failing which their admissions will be summarily cancelled. Request for refunds in such cases will not be entertained.
      Admission Procedure
      • Eligible candidates possessing the minimum qualifications and satisfying additional criteria set by the school will be called for an entrance test followed by an interview by the Selection Committee appointed by the Chairman, Academic Council.
      • Based on the academic record and the performance of the candidates in the test and interview, the names of the candidates found suitable for admission to the Ph.D. programme will be finalized.

  • Post Graduate

    For Masters Degree Programme, a candidate can apply for, Single Programme with a requisite application fee of Rs. 1000/- (for Gen / OBC) Rs. 500/- (for SC / ST / PWD) and for more than one Programme (upto all five) Rs. 2000/- (for Gen / OBC) Rs. 1000/- (for SC / ST / PWD) on a single application form.

  • Doctoral

    For Doctoral Programme, a candidate can apply with a requisite application fee of Rs. 1000/- (for Gen / OBC) Rs. 500/- (for SC / ST / PWD).

    • Kindly mention programme applying for, in the given space on the form and check the eligibility criteria for the particular programme.
    • The candidates should fill application form manually in BLOCK LETTERS only.
    • Application incomplete in any respect is liable to be rejected.
    • Complete Admission form must reach at given address by 31st May 2014.
    • The following documents (if applicable) should be enclosed along with the application form
      • Self attested copy of valid GATE score or UGC/NET fellowship.
      • Self attested copy of final mark lists & Degree Certificate of the qualifying examination.
      • In the case of candidates who have appeared or will be appearing in the qualifying examination, self attested copies of the latest mark sheets are to be submitted. Final mark sheets and provisional degree certificate are required to be submitted by 15th September 2014, (if admitted) failing which admission will be cancelled.
      • Self attested copy of proof of date of birth.
      • Self attested copy of certificate in the case of SC/ST candidates from a Competent Authority (Not bellow rank of a Tahsildar).
      • Self attested copy of certificate in the case of OBC candidates from a Competent Authority (not below the rank of a Tahsildar).
      • Self attested copy of experience certificate.
      • Research proposal (use separate sheets, 500 words approx. For Doctoral Program.)
      • Statement of Purpose (use separate sheets, 200 words approx. For Masters Program.)
      • Sponsorship certificate duly filled by the Sponsoring Authority (with the seal of the Sponsoring Authority) in the prescribed format.
      • Self attested copy of proof of all research publications in journal and conference.
      • Demand draft towards application fee as per the category of the candidate.
